Introducing Mahle's Steel Monotherm Diesel Race Piston
MAHLE is the first name in diesel piston technology around the globe with the resources to develop the very best. Like the pistons in Audi R10 prototype that had shattered multiple records and won numerous championships. That’s why their new extreme duty steel monotherm diesel race piston is worth checking out. Designed with a race inspired lower compression bowl for extreme boost including both single and staged turbo applications.
Available for B series Cummins 6 cylinder engines, MAHLE’s steel monotherm pistons, are not only durable, but are down right invincible.
File under transportation

It's not a car, admittedly, but it is an invention by a young Canadian lad. More scoop at Core 77, but this wheels around much like a Segway.
On a roll here...

Well, after posting the cutout in the entry below, I thought I'd see what other paper models are out there. This one above is from EPcars, with a whole host of awesome models... Maybach, Lamborghini, Audi....
Paper Chase

Guy's version of paper dolls. On the BMW Thailand site, you can download these (and more) paper cutouts for little paper BMWs. Print 'em out on your printer and fold 'em up. Vrooom.
$100 million worth of Mazdas... poof
Remember this from 2 years ago? The ship carrying 4700+ new Mazdas? They have now decided to destroy all the cars, since they do not know if the cars are totally safe to own and drive, although they were not submerged. Full story at Wall Street Journal Online. Cool details on how they go about it.
Slow down, you move too fast
You gotta' check out this photo series at Crooked Brains... ingenious stuff. Can you guess what's going on?
Car Parking

Those little suckers hide between 2 SUVs, most annoying...
Concept cars at Beijing Show

On the Road features photos from the Beijing Auto Show. Best line in the article is the quaote form GM design boss Ed Weiburn: “They don’t know the rules, but that’s okay. There’s a lot of creativity here.” Check it out, lots of photos.
Jaws of Life
An interesting bit here in Globe Auto... about how much more difficult it is for emergency workers to extricate car crash victims, now that vehicles have so many safety features. That's one of those things you never think about. Extrications on newer cars can now take twice as long as they used to, extending the critical arrival time at a hospital. Apparently air bags and hybrid car cables present real hazards. Interesting read.
